Despite concerns that the recent earthquake crisis in Japan could push back the release of Canon’s latest digital SLR cameras, the Canon EOS 600D and Canon EOS 1100D, stocks are available in Europe today as planned. had been showing March 29th as the release date for some weeks, and it seems that despite all that’s gone on in Japan since the announcement in February, Canon have managed to keep on schedule.

Amazon currently have stock on most of the kits, with Jessops stores in the UK also carrying stock of the new models.

We have already had a preview of both the 600D/Rebel T3i and it’s more affordable sibling, the 1100D/Rebel T3, and expect both to sell extremely well in the coming months.

The two models occupy opposing ends of the Canon consumer Digital SLR line-up, with the EOS 1100D replacing the ageing 1000D/Rebel XS at the entry-level, and the EOS 600D taking over the mantle of flagship consumer model from the EOS 550D.

Where to buy?

Both the 600D and 1100D are available now, and whilst we’re not talking iPad 2 levels of demand, stocks at some outlets do seem to be a bit limited.

Amazon have both 600D/T3i and 1100D/T3 kits in stock, some of which are a bit cheaper than you’ll find them in the shops.
